Hello UUCF Friends!
We wanted to let you know about two Fayetteville community organizations that support LGBTQ people and their families, friends, and allies.
Did you all know that we have an organization called “Fayetteville PRIDE” in our community?
Their mission is to instill pride, celebrate unity, and embrace diversity and inclusiveness in our LGBTQ* community and allies, and to provide a support network and educational advocacy group dedicated to increasing awareness and acceptance. For those of you that use Facebook, they have a page: https://www.facebook.com/
The next meeting of the Fayetteville PFLAG Chapter is Thursday, June 1st 7 – 9 pm at Fairfield Inn and Suites, 4249 Ramsey St, Fayetteville, NC. With more than 500 chapters across the United States and 200,000+ members and supporters, PFLAG is the United States’ largest organization for parents, families, friends, and allies united with people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or queer (LGBTQ). They also have a Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/PFLAG-Fayetteville-439481709721348/
A QUOTE FROM THE UNITARIAN UNIVERSALIST ASSOCIATION:
“Each of us has worth and dignity, and that worth includes our gender and our sexuality. As Unitarian Universalists (UUs), we not only open our doors to people of all sexual orientations and gender identities, we value diversity of sexuality and gender and see it as a spiritual gift. We create inclusive religious communities and work for LGBTQ justice and equity as a core part of who we are. All of who you are is sacred. All of who you are is welcome.” -UUA
